Ordinary People Catapulted into Extraordinary Pulse-Pounding Situations
Marking
the first time a reality television program has been transformed into a
theme park attraction, “Fear Factor Live” invites guests to test their
courage and strength as they perform pulse-pounding stunts.
The most intense audience participatory attraction ever created for a
theme park, “Fear Factor Live” is designed to challenge guests,
allowing them to conquer their fears and test their physical and
emotional limits as they participate in a progression of extreme stunts
before a live audience.
Following an intense in-park audition process, audience members will
experience the thrill of the blockbuster series in a way they could not
before: live. Throughout each show, park guests will compete against
each other in a series of extreme stunts that have been developed with
help from Fear Factor’s creators.
Over the course of a year, more than 50,000 people will have a chance to participate in “Fear Factor Live,” where they will
be taken out of their comfort zones and placed in unfamiliar territory as the experience preys on basic human fears.
Members
of the audience will play an interactive role by blasting contestants
with water and air and controlling obstacles on stage. In addition,
audience members can spin the “Wheel of Fear” and confront their own
phobias.
“The odds are more in your favor of getting into
Harvard than being chosen to appear on Fear Factor,” said the show’s
executive producer, Matt Kunitz. “With Fear Factor Live, people will
now have the chance to participate in some of the same stunts we’ve
done on the show.”
“Our theme parks are known for thrilling, cutting-edge entertainment,” said Tom Williams, chairman and CEO of Universal
Parks & Resorts. “Creating an extreme
experience such as Fear Factor Live is perfect for us.”

New “Wardrobe Department” Store Offers Hip Couture & Unique Hollywood Collectibles
Universal Studios Hollywood offers guests an opportunity to take home a
piece of Hollywood history -and, perhaps, a fashion find as well-with
the introduction of its new retail store, “The Wardrobe Department.” It
offers a broad selection of eclectic clothing and unique collectibles
from popular television and movie productions.
Each item is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, documenting
the television or movie production on which the item was originally
worn or utilized. In addition to clothing, the store will have limited
numbers of other Hollywood collectibles, including cue cards and props.
Larry Kurzweil, president of Universal Studios Hollywood, said, “This
unique new venture reaffirms our commitment to providing guests with an
authentic Hollywood experience while allowing us to partner with our
sister companies in showcasing exciting new film and television
programming.”
Popularly priced wardrobe pieces range in sizes for both men and women
and run the gamut from haute couture and contemporary chic to
one-of-a-kind items custom tailored to fit a key actor. Among the shows
represented in the “Wardrobe Department” collection are such popular
programs as “American Dreams,” “Will and Grace,” “Passions,” and
“Crossing Jordan.”
