Knott's Berry Farm has been a Southern California icon for since 1920. When you purchase your Knott's Berry Farm tickets, you'll step inside the incredible story of Walter and Cordelia Knott.
Walter and Cordelia Knott moved to Southern California in 1920. Walter rented 20 acres of land near on Highway 39, now Beach Blvd. in Buena Park, Ca. with a desire to grow vegetables and fruit.
The Knott family, Walter, Cordelia and their four children worked their land hard. The Knott family first winter was colder than normal and times were hard. The following year things began looking up. The land began growing berries, rhubarb, and asparagus. Being the ever entrepreneur, Walt set up a fruit stand on the side of road and Knott's Berry Farm was born.
