SeaWorld San Diego Where the Holiday Season Meets the Sea

Looking for a place where the season meets the sea? SeaWorld is the place for all that and much more as the marine park presents San Diego’s premier holiday event, SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. There’s plenty of festive fun for the whole family, including the return of Santa’s Christmas Village, Rudolph’s Christmastown, O Wondrous Night, Dolphin Island Christmas and Clyde & Seamore’s Christmas Special. More than a million holiday lights twinkle throughout the park, which is also decked out with hundreds of Christmas trees and 5,000 feet of garland. And shining above it all is SeaWorld’s 320-foot Skytower Tree of Lights, the largest Christmas tree in Southern California. SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration kicks off Nov. 17, 2018 and continues through Jan. 6, 2019.

The most famous reindeer of all, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, will also be back at Rudolph’s Christmastown, where families can enjoy photo opportunities with Rudolph and his friends Clarice, Bumble and Yukon Cornelius. (It’ll be easy to spot Rudolph with his nose so bright!). SeaWorld San Diego is the only theme park on the West Coast where people can meet this lovable character that has charmed generations for more than 50 years. Plus, the nightly tree-lighting ceremony of the 40-foot Happiest Christmas Tree is sure to have everyone singing along and in a festive spirit. New this year is Rudolph’s Movie Experience, complete with special effects, presented daily in the park’s Mission Bay Theater.

O Wondrous Night is a live nativity that tells the Christmas story from a new point of view: through the eyes of the animals! This breathtaking musical features more than 30 carols, beautiful storytelling puppets and live majestic animals, including camels, a donkey, llamas, sheep and doves. O Wondrous Night will once again be performed under the stars at the park’s Nautilus Amphitheater.

Friends and family will want to cozy up at Santa’s Christmas Village, where children can listen to Mrs. Claus during story time and share their wish list and take pictures with the Big Guy at Santa’s Cottage. It’s relaxing to explore the Village and enjoy “Merry Moments” with Santa’s friendly elves and delectable culinary creations, all while waiting for a turn to sit on Santa’s lap, thanks to SeaWorld’s handy reservation system.

And the festivities don’t come to an end after Christmas Day is over. SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration continues all the way through Jan. 6, with special performances of the Three Kings Procession, running Jan. 1-6 only.

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration: it’s where the season meets the sea, and where friends and family celebrate together!
